Palm Springs Auction

A Palm Springs home once owned by Elvis Presley, currently being marketed at $2.59 million, will be sold at auction Oct. 25. The starting bid is still to be established, said Eric G. Meeks of Team Wrubleski Meeks Realtors. The bank-owned house, built in 1946, had been billed as Graceland West before falling on harder times.

The ranch-style home sits on 1.75 acres with panoramic mountain and desert views. The gated lot has palm trees, a kidney-shaped swimming pool and a separate spa. The 5,040 square feet of living space include a vaulted ceiling living room with a fireplace, a dining room with a wet bar and a barrel ceiling, a 30-foot-by-50-foot entertainment room, four bedrooms and 6.25 bathrooms.

Elvis bought the property in 1970 for $105,000 from McDonald’s honcho Ray Kroc. Singer Frankie Valli also owned the house, selling it in 1981 for $500,000.
