July 05 - 60 Years Of Biographic News

Being one of the original founders of ElvisNews.com that site is a favorite in my bookmark list. And today the site got a new design as part of the 15 anniversary of the website.

The new look brings an "old design classic" (the cover-art of Elvis debut album) to a new era. The design itself is responsive, so it will work on many different devices like you computer, tablet or smartphone. I think it looks much better than the previous one and hope the content will be as up-to-date as the design real soon :-)

Check out the new design.

Elvis Presley is featured on this week's edition of the biographic on the GoGraphic site. A nice "biographic" by Steve McGarry.

60 years of Rock ’n’ Roll

The song that changed everything: "That's All Right, Mama" was written by Arthur Crudup in 1954, but it is Elvis' version recorded at SUN studio of Sam Phillips the 5th of July 1954 which has become the famous version.

It was released on single under the name "That's All Right", coupled with "Blue Moon Of Kentucky" as the B-side. The catalog number was 209 SUN. Elvis sang and played acoustic guitar, Scotty Moore played electric guitar, and Bill Black played bass. The recording contains no other instruments or any kind of overdubs.
As they had finished recording Bill Black exclaims to the others; "Damn. Get that on the radio and they'll run us out of town!" Elvis later commented; "We just landed upon it accidentally… Nobody knew what they were doing, until we had already done it!"
