January 06 - No More "Gracelands"?

Several local Graceland mansions are in problems. Associated Press mentioned that Kings Holdings, the owner of Elvis Presley’s former Palm Springs, California, estate - named "Graceland West" - rocked into Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week.

The Danish news paper BT published a story about "Graceland Randers" and the objections of EPE (owner of the real "Graceland" and copyright to the name) against the use of the name "Graceland Randers".

The construction has been under way for quite a while and the registration of the name "Graceland Randers"  was done back in 2006 and Henrik asks, "why wait so long to make objections?"

In a reaction, owner/president Henrik Knudsen says he's "shocked and disappointed". "They had 5 years to react and nobody objected. "I met Priscilla and Lisa Marie several times and even they didn't mention any problems. I will go ahead with the project anyway, and people will always refer to it as "Graceland Randers"." If all goes according to plan, the building will open its doors next April.

In The Netherlands a fan builds his own Graceland Mansion in the city of Breda (where Tom Parker was born in June 1909) and is a few steps ahead of the "Randers mansion". Unlike the Graceland Randers and Graceland West mansions he has no commercial plans.
