August 2 - The Complete EP Masters Collection Announced

Sony Legacy Records announced "The Complete Elvis Presley Masters Collection Limited Edition". 30 CDs containing all 711 master recordings as released during Elvis’ lifetime, 103 additional rare recordings and a 240-page hardbound book featuring an annotated discography, original album artwork, rare and classic photos, a complete song index and an essay by Peter Guralnick. 


All tracks were remastered from the original analog master tapes where available. The first run is a limited edition of only 1000 numbered units and "housed in a beautiful, limited edition display case, the set is an indispensable piece of music history and the one collection no true connoisseur should be without" according to the press-release. Pre-orders started August 2, the releasedate of the set is October 19, 2010. 


The Complete Elvis Presley Masters Collection is the crown jewel in RCA/Legacy's 2010 Elvis 75 campaign which commemorates the 75th anniversary of Elvis' birth, celebrated on January 8, 2010.
