June 10 - Stolen! Lodewijk Rijff Died

A thief stole an original photograph of Elvis Presley worth several thousand dollars from an antique store on Pioneer Street this week, police said.

Someone removed the Presley photograph from its frame when the owner of As You Like it Antiques wasn't looking, sometime Tuesday or early Wednesday, the owner told police. She reported the theft from her shop in the 100 block of Pioneer Street at 11:25 Wednesday, Ashland Police Deputy Chief Rich Walsh said this morning. "She just happened to find the frame of the picture lying there," he said.

The photo depicted Presley, actor Mario Lanza and two unknown men, Walsh said.
